Published Books

Gloria Anzaldúa said, “a woman who writes has power, and a woman with power is feared,” rejecting institutions illegitimizing academic writing and publishing as too personal, not theoretical enough, and not rigorous enough. From the pages of my journal to the pages of self-published books, Thirteen Months Journey Through the Pandemic (2022) and Fired Up (2023) reflect a genuine, honest, and curious perspective of my personal and professional lives. To write from a critically reflective practice is, as Brookfield (1998) said, “a process of inquiry to discover and research assumptions that frame how we work [and live].” The Unwell Educator takes a similar approach in that we will deeply reflect on our personal understanding of unwellness and care through the structures that surround us every day.
